WHY DO WE CALL BHADRAPADA MASA
It is a full moon day (Poornima Day) that will appear on Purva Bhadra or Uttara Bhadra Nakshatra.This month is auspicious and as we can find a holy moment (Punya- Muhurtams) for Bhagavata- Saptaha.
The third day of this month is celebrated as Gowri-Tritiya as spoken in the Bhavishyotara - Puranam when we worship her, she bestows "Wealth, Health, and Longevity of life".
The next day it is the birthday of Lord Ganesha which is popularly known as "GANESHA-CHATURTHI". It is a very famous festival in India. All over India celebrate this festival very grandly and full of faith. There will be always a road procession of Ganesha.
Followed on the sixth day "Surya Shashti" it has appeared on Sunday of this month i.e 12th September 2021. As it is a rare combination of Shasti on Sunday.
From the seventh day until "Bhadra-Poornima" the "Bhagavata-Saptaha" is observed.
It is said in the holy scriptures that King Parikshit attained salvation (Moksha) on this day.
